Road to Exile

Casa del Mediterráneo (old Benalúa station)

1 hour and 15 min.

Minimum age

Welcome, for the next few hours you will travel around the city of Alicante, solving tests and with the help of a map you will learn about some of the events that took place during part of the 20th century in the city.

You find a strange notebook walking around the city: it is a diary. It tells the story of an anonymous Spaniard who passed through Alicante on his way to exile during the last days of the Civil War. You will not be alone, Batiste Caramasa and Amado Granell will guide you through an Alicante plunged into uncertainty due to the flight of the government and the advance of Franco’s troops. The objective is to reach a ship and escape from the war, or worse, from defeat. Let’s go there!

Frequently Asked Questions

We offer self-guided gymkhana-routes of a tourist, historical and/or cultural nature.

This concept responds to the way of understanding the routes as itineraries, in which, in order to continue advancing, we will have to answer a series of questions that the platform will propose to us.

These tests can be of a diverse nature, such as classic questions that we can answer with one or more answers, look at a semi-hidden element of our environment, find a specific location… In any case, from Excapic we want to make culture accessible and the difficulty of the challenges is simple, since they are not exams, but ways to better understand what we are learning.

When we have completed one of the tests, the next stage of the route will be unlocked. As always, all from the phone.

Excellent question!

The fact that the routes are autonomous is one of our signs of identity and means nothing more than that they are carried out directly on our own account, needing only a mobile phone; giving us the opportunity to carry out the activities at any time of the day, without reservation, at your own pace. The route adapts to you and not the other way around.

The telephone will act as a guide; showing us the route, telling us the stories and curiosities of the route; it will propose questions and answers as we continue along the route.

Of course, the routes can be done in groups or individually.
